Dot NAME Domain Names

Started in 2001, the .NAME TLD is the only one supposed to be for personal sites only. These domain names can be personal or fictional names, nicknames and/or other designations people are famous by. At the beginning, solely 3rd-level registrations were possible, so if you wished to reserve john.doe.name, you were required to do that under .doe.name. In 2004, however, the registration process was liberalized and second-level registrations were also allowed. Already purchased third-level domain names remained active.

You will be able to update the WHOIS contacts, to park your domain, to set up Custom DNS records, etc. You can also move over an existing domain to our company if you receive its EPP transfer key from the present registrar company and we will renew it once the transfer has been finalized. There are no specific regulations on who can obtain a .NAME domain, but in order to keep the objective behind its creation alive, the Registry may verify who the owner is and if there is no link between the owner and the actual domain name, the registration could be challenged.
